Word Girl Definition Competition

Year 4 student, Claude Hopkins, took part in a webcast vocabulary competition organised by Scholastic on Tuesday 11th May 2010.
Claude was pitted against 3 other students from the New York area. He was able to correctly answer questions about definitions of words, synonyms and antonyms which resulted in him being crowned as the very first winner of this exciting competition.
His classmates went along to support and did a very good job of cheering him on. They were all extremely excited when Claude won and the grand prize was read out.
Claude won a dictionary and thesaurus for every child in the class, along with a Word Girl pack filled with quizzes and word games, plus, 500 books for the school!
