Some forty plus Old Paulines and Paulinas from 1936 through to very recent leavers, one of the 2008-09 Colet Fellows and other friends of St. Paul’s joined HM Dr. Martin Stephen and Jenny Stephen for dinner in the library of the British International School in New York on Saturday evening April 10th.
With a perfect evening for looking at the boats plying the East River, replaced by New York’s neon and glitz as the sun set, the guests enjoyed a sumptuous sit-down dinner.
Simon Strauss, OP and President of St. Paul’s North America alumni organization The Colet Foundation, welcomed everyone, thanked the hosts and described the Colet Foundation and the Colet Fellowship, recognizing 2008-09 Colet Fellow Alfredo Garcia, who is now at Harvard Divinity School.
The High Master, Dr. Martin Stephen, took over the podium and began by describing recent achievements by St. Paul’s boys in various extracurricular activities, then turned the conversation to needs-blind admission and St. Paul’s relationships with its local communities, and special programmes organized by St. Paul’s staff for talented students from local schools.
The evening ended with delicious dessert and much lingering conversation.
